
Hey, I’m Kelly. I started Massaged Kale as a creative outlet, after realizing how much I love growing, cooking and eating food. As a busy mom of 3 young kids, several hobbies (reading, mountain biking, skiing, river rafting) and a career in environmental epidemiology, I create recipes with a balanced mix of food from scratch and ready-made time saving ingredients. My goals in cooking are to make one nutritious meal that my whole family will eat and enjoy, use produce that is fresh and in season, and to be environmentally conscious. I'm lucky to call the Pacific Northwest home, where I can explore the outdoors and grow a big garden most of the year.
Why the name "Massaged Kale"? There are so many things I love about kale. The texture, the vibrant colors, the nutritional value, that it's better after overwintering in my garden, how it grows huge and looks like a prehistoric plant, and lastly, how massaging it makes it that much more tender and delicious.
